Incisions in head and neck region are having particular importance because of presence of a large number of vital anatomic structures and also because of aesthetic reasons. Any damage to the structures such as nerves in this region should be avoided by careful planning of the incision. The scar resulting from incisions in this region are well exposed and is not normally hidden by usual clothing. The salivary glands, major and minor, comprise a complex anatomic and physiologic organ system producing enzyme, lubrication, mixing agent and immune factors.
